Household: Not because of one bad decision. Rent went up in March. The car needs something it always needs. The after-school stretches into a babysitting question nobody planned for. None of it is a crisis. All of it, together, is.
Body: Survival math crowds out everything else. Under sustained financial pressure, executive function narrows: long-term thinking, civic attention, the capacity to even notice a system beyond this month contracts to fit the size of the threat. This isn't a personal failure. It's what scarcity does to a mind, and to a culture full of minds doing the same math at the same time. The condition has to change before the behavior can.
Household: Something is going in a few miles out, the kind of project that shows up in a town meeting agenda before it shows up anywhere else. Compute, water, energy, on one site. Household: The grocery run, the gas tank, the kid's shoes: all of it still costs what it costs. But a small slice of each purchase has started landing somewhere else: a sliver of ownership in the kinds of things this household actually spends money on. Nobody had to decide to invest. It was just... already happening, in the background, the way a paycheck already has taxes taken out.
Body: This is Sowly's behavioral allocation engine: transaction becomes categorization becomes allocation becomes ownership, continuously, without requiring a decision. Income is consumed.
